SkyTruth Alerts is now SkyTruth Monitor. View the How-To Guide.
You can visualize reports as they happen over time. You can also view certain layers — the earthquakes layer, for example — over time.
View a timeline of Alerts reports
- Position the map on your desired location.
- In the left sidebar, select the types of alerts you want to view on the timeline.
- Click the Timeline button (top right of the sidebar).
- Make selections for:
– the amount of time in each step should cover (1 month, 1 year, etc.)
– how long to pause at each step
– visualizing map markers for the reports or a “heatmap” or intensity map
– timeframe or date range
– whether or not to cluster markers - Click the Play button to start the timeline.
You can view up to 100,000 Alerts reports on the timeline. If you see a warning that your area includes more than that, zoom in and refresh the timeline by clicking the link.
View a timeline of Earthquakes
- Position the map on your desired location.
- In the left sidebar, select the Layers tab.
- Click the International Section, then click the “eye” icon to the left of Earthquakes.
- Make selections for:
– opacity
– earthquake magnitude range
