Areas of interest

Create an Area of Interest

Click the Areas of interest icon.
Click Explore a New Area.
Select one of the various options to create an area of interest:
1. Current map. Everything you see in your current map view.
2. Polygon. Use drawing tools to create your area of interest.
3. Rectangle. Click the top left corner of the rectangle, then let go. Drag your mouse to create the rectangle.
4. Upload GeoJSON. A file (.geojson) with geographic data encoded in it. The GeoJSON can only use Polygon or MultiPolygon features.
5. Pre-Defined AOIs. Select from lists of pre-defined areas, for example, states, counties, EEZs, basins, etc.
Click Return to AOI List to choose another option.

Save an area of interest

After setting up your AOI, click Add this AOI to my list.
Enter a name for your AOI and click Save.

Return to a saved area of interest

Click the Areas of interest icon.
Search for or scroll to the area of interest you want.
Click the area of interest and it will appear in your map view.

Delete an area of interest

Click the Areas of interest icon.
Search for or scroll to the area of interest you want.
Click the trashcan icon to the right of the area of interest.
Click Delete to confirm you want to remove the area of interest. (Cannot be undone.)
